Bob May, Baseball Historian

Bob May is an Author, Speaker, Baseball Historian. Bob has a series of talks (secular or faith based) that honors the great ball players from the Black Ball Era (Negro Leagues or segregated baseball).  Bob has given over sixty baseball talks in six states.

This summer (2019), Bob has researched where all the National Baseball Hall of Fame players were born.  His first talk is on the players born in Texas.  Next summer when he will be in the New England states for eight weeks, he will give talks on the Hall of Fame baseball players born in New England!

Bob is willing to travel.  Do you know of any groups willing to pay travel expenses to other parts of the USA?  Bob will create talks for specific geographic areas.  He would need 4 weeks to create specific geographic baseball talks.

Bob has always been passionate about baseball and baseball board game simulation.  When he was seven years old (summer of 1949), his Dad took him to his first baseball game at Fenway Park in Boston to see the New York Yankees play the Boston Red Sox.  He has been a baseball fan, ever since.

In July 2012, he published his first book, The Best Season – The First Ninety Games honoring Black Ball through baseball game simulation.  This is the first book of a two book series.  The second book, The Best Season – The Challenging Finish was published in August 2017.

He has lived in Rockwall since 2000 with his English wife, Michele.  They celebrated their 52nd anniversary, November 2018.  They have three children and eight grandkids.  Bob is a Substitute Teacher in Rockwall ISD.
